Browserbase Enables Native Agentic Browser Sessions with x402 and USDC

Tl;dr: Browserbase launched an x402 endpoint allowing AI agents to buy and launch browser sessions with USDC on Base, no config needed.
Today we’re excited to share that Browserbase has launched an x402 endpoint, enabling AI agents to natively purchase their hosted browser sessions. Through the x402 Bazaar and Payments MCP, agents can discover Browserbase, view pricing, and pay per session using USDC on Base – eliminating the need for API keys, billing portals, or manual onboarding.
This is a big unlock for the emerging agentic stack: agents can finally browse, click, fill forms, and interact with the web using a real browser, paid for automatically, as part of their workflow.

A real Chromium browser session launched and controlled by an agent, paid for via x402.
What is Browserbase?
Browserbase provides developers with serverless, programmable browsers that run in secure cloud environments. It gives agents and automation systems full control over a real Chromium browser: navigation, DOM access, screenshot capture, replay, cookies, storage, and more.
AI developers use Browserbase to power:
web scraping that needs JavaScript execution
automated workflows that interact with legacy web apps
QA pipelines that require a real browser for user simulation
e-commerce and checkout automation
“internet-native” agents that need to see and interact with the actual web
The x402 Endpoint Unlock
1. Autonomous Web Navigation
Agents can browse, click, extract DOM data, and capture screenshots in real browsers. This is useful for research, shopping, and live data retrieval workflows.
2. Automated QA & Regression Testing
Agents can run test suites in isolated browser environments, capturing screenshots, DOM snapshots, console logs, and network traces, for CI pipelines.
3. E-commerce Automation
Agents can complete multi-step e-commerce flows, including adding items to carts, filling forms, applying promo codes, and comparing prices. Payments for sessions are handled automatically via x402.
4. Legacy Integration for Systems With No API
For older web apps without APIs, agents can interact directly with the UI. x402 simplifies the process: “Call endpoint → run browser → pay USDC → get results.”

Browserbase, Powered by Coinbase Business
Browserbase uses Coinbase Business as its settlement layer for x402 payments. Each session payment in USDC is instantly deposited into their Coinbase account, offering:
automatic rewards on idle balances
institutional-grade custody
real-time revenue tracking
no reconciliation work or fraud risk
no credit cards to manage
This lets Browserbase emphasize its focus on delivering reliable and robust browser infrastructure.

With Browserbase and x402, agents can directly pay to access and use the web itself. Navigation, interaction, and execution all become metered, autonomous actions - with no accounts, API keys, or human setup.
If you’re building agents, automation systems, or AI-native products that need real browser interaction, now is the perfect time to explore.
