About

If Cabinet Secretary is an office previously held by the first person inaugurated as President for the term beginning January 20, 2029, then the market resolves to Yes. This must be confirmed, verified, or established as factual by at least one Source Agency. Each market resolves independently and more than one can resolve YES. If the person has held none of the offices listed, every market resolves NO. "Previously held" means the person was sworn in and served in the office at any time before January 20, 2029. Any length of service counts, and it does not matter whether the person reached the office through election, appointment or succession. A person who was elected or appointed but never sworn in did NOT hold the office. What each office means: President: President of the United States. Serving as Acting President under Section 3 of the 25th Amendment does NOT count. Vice President: Vice President of the United States. U.S. Senator: a United States Senator. A state senator does NOT count. U.S. Representative: a voting member of the United States House of Representatives. A state representative, a territorial Delegate and the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico do NOT count. Governor: Governor of one of the 50 states or of a United States territory, including a person who succeeded to the office. A Lieutenant Governor temporarily discharging the Governor's duties does NOT count. Mayor: Mayor of any incorporated municipality in the United States, of any population, including in an acting or interim capacity. A city council or county governing board office does NOT count. Cabinet Secretary: a Senate-confirmed head of one of the 15 executive departments, including the Attorney General. An acting head does NOT count, and neither does a Cabinet-rank official who does not head an executive department, such as the U.S. Trade Representative or the Director of National Intelligence. State Legislator: a member of either chamber of the legislature of one of the 50 states.
