Axolotl Finance (AXO) is an automated market maker (AMM) that allows users to swap tokens and offer liquidity to existing pools or create new ones. It is also a network that offers crypto index funds for tokens and NFTs. A crypto index fund is an investment product like a mutual fund, which gives access to different cryptocurrencies. The Axolotl finance protocol combines various strategies that have worked for many traders in the past with the power of DeFi. Axolotl intends to use a unique protocol to manage interactions between liquidity providers, liquidity pools, and users.
According to the whitepaper, Axolotl aims to allow users to create index funds based on cryptocurrency or supply liquidity to an existing fund. That way, users can customize the options to develop index funds in the network. Axolotl aspires to resolve issues like high transaction fees and speed on the Defi and diversify the Defi network for more participation.
The AXOL, now known as AXO, is the native token that powers the operations on the Axolotl network. The users can earn AXOL tokens through liquidity mining on the network. AXOL works on the Solana network and is a governance token. Solana is a platform that builds high-performing blockchains and cryptocurrency apps.
AXOL is a BEP-20 token on BSC (Binance Smart Chain). A BEP 20 is a token standard of BSC that works on the lines of ERC20. BEP-20 defines the rules of token usage on the BSC.
From the total supply of AXO tokens, the platform aims to allocate 12.5% as initial capital, 20% for the team, 5% for marketing, 50% for a liquidity pool, and 12.5% for capital providers.
The Axolotl cryptocurrency, DEX, and whitepaper were launched in 2021. The maximum supply of AXOL tokens is capped at 200 trillion. The founding team members of the cryptocurrency include Andrey Garcia and Carlos Velzquez. The founders have vast experience in blockchain and business development.
