Metis believes education is the only way to attain one’s true potential. However, many potential individuals find difficulties accessing education and get the right incentive to complete it. Therefore, Metis has brought up a solution that seeks to provide direct financial incentives to study and learn the skills in demand within society.
According to the whitepaper, the ecosystem of Metis seeks to onboard various educational institutions to offer their courses on the platform. With the help of Metis Artificial Intelligence, learners can experience customized learning and earn MTS tokens.
The MTS token is the native token of Metis. It is an ERC-20 token that works on the Ethereum blockchain. Learners can earn MTS tokens as rewards by completing the milestones in their online courses. In addition to that, the platform seeks to provide a graduation certificate to the students. Also, the certificate and any other awards are ERC721 non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Moreover, the MTS token holders can create governance proposals and vote on proposals related to the Metis protocol. Token holders can stake MTS tokens in addition to governance privileges. Educational institutions can provide their courses on the MetisEdu platform by staking a specific number of tokens. At the same time, students can also stake tokens to seek to earn multiple times their rewards. However, staking can also reduce the fees of a course as per the Metis protocol. And lastly, students can use tokens for payment of classes or redemption of rewards.
On November 22, 2021, the updated whitepaper was published on the official website of Metis. According to the whitepaper, the maximum total supply of MTS tokens is 1,200,000,000 MTS tokens. Samuel Seo and Hyunjun Lee are the cofounders of Metis.
