Off-chain transactions occur outside the blockchain, whereas on-chain transactions occur on the blockchain. Stake miners secure the inputs of the data bank of these blockchains. The Zap protocol uses a crypto-economic incentive system where direct data submissions by miners are rewarded and bad actors are punished through the issuance of ZAP, the governance token of Zap.
