Flux is a cryptocurrency that fuels the Flux ecosystem, a platform dedicated to fostering the development, deployment, and use of the decentralized Internet of the future, known as Web3. The Flux ecosystem comprises a native, minable POW cryptocurrency ($FLUX), a decentralized computational Flux Network (FluxNodes), a Linux-based operating system (FluxOS), the premier digital asset platform (Zelcore), and the Flux blockchain for on-chain governance, economics, and parallel assets to provide interoperability with other blockchains and DeFi access. Flux aims to develop a decentralized Web3 infrastructure, with a focus on reducing points of failure and improving uptime, striving to transform how we view Proof of Work blockchains and address the current sustainability issues often criticized by blockchain critics.
Flux operates through a network of decentralized nodes run by users worldwide, contributing to the global network of decentralized systems. The Flux ecosystem uses parallel assets, akin to token bridges, allowing assets to be ported from one blockchain to another. This interoperability enables developers to run any application on any blockchain, thanks to the software’s cross-compatibility. Flux also introduces Proof of Useful Work (PoUW), aiming to harness the vast amount of compute power its GPU miners use to secure the blockchain by solving real-world problems instead of the random problems used in traditional PoW chains. Flux also provides on-chain staking in Titan nodes and other platforms, providing various ways for users to benefit from the Flux ecosystem.
Flux aims to empower everyone to develop, deploy, and use the decentralized Internet of the future: Web3. It seeks to solve real-world problems ranging from encoding video to predicting the weather to assisting research teams with their machine learning models. Flux's parallel assets can be integrated with different applications, including those of decentralized finance on the Flux computational network, thus removing the risks of those applications being limited to the Flux network. This interoperability allows development teams working on projects using Flux to maintain the uniqueness of their blockchains while still being able to access all the infrastructure they need in the Flux ecosystem.
Flux was co-founded by Daniel Keller, Tadeas Kmenta, and Parker Honeyman, who bring a wealth of experience in technology infrastructure, operations, and large-scale project leadership. Flux has been GPU mined since day one, with no ICO/IEO/Pre-sale held. The Flux ecosystem has grown to include a native, minable POW cryptocurrency, a decentralized computational Flux Network, a Linux-based operating system, and the Flux blockchain. Flux has collaborated with various entities such as Nvidia’s Inception program, Seeed Studio, Lumen Technologies, and OVHcloud, to foster the development and adoption of Web3 and the underlying next-gen technologies. Flux has also launched several parallel assets, including Flux-Kadena, Flux-ETH, and Flux-BSC, which exist on various blockchains.
